HOMEWORK CENTERS SEEK VOLUNTEER TUTORS
Make a difference - volunteer with the Saint Paul Public Library
The Saint Paul Public Library Homework Centers are seeking volunteers to tutor students of all ages with homework during after-school hours. Homework Centers provide free one-on-one tutoring to students seeking extra help with homework and study skills. This opportunity directly impacts the lives of students in our communities. Previous experience is helpful; training is provided.
Volunteers can mentor at one of five library branches: Rondo Community Outreach Library, Rice Street, Sun Ray, Dayton's Bluff or Riverview. Time commitment two hours weekly, minimum four months. Homework Center hours Monday-Thursday 3:00 to 7:00pm. and at Rondo and Sun Ray Sunday 1:00 to 4:00pm. For more information contact Beth at (651)226-7433 or beth.lokken@ci.stpaul.mn.us.
"READ WITH ME" PROGRAM SEEKS VOLUNTEERS
Tutor a child one-on-one for an hour a week
The Saint Paul Public Library's Read With Me Program is seeking dedicated volunteers to tutor a child in reading. This is a free service provided at the Saint Paul Public Library for students in the first through third grades who would benefit from extra one-on-one reading tutoring. This program increases literacy in the community and enables young children to gain confidence in reading.
